Dementia Cases Rise Sharply, Avoid 10 Risks to Keep Your Brain Healthy

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), dementia is a condition caused by a number of diseases that gradually destroy nerve cells and damage the brain, resulting in a decline in cognitive function.
By 2023, there will be more than 55 million people with dementia globally, according to the WHO. Meanwhile, by 2050, the population of people aged 65 and over will double to 2.1 billion.
Although age remains the strongest known risk factor for dementia, researchers have identified several risk factors for dementia, according to a 2020 report by The Lancet Commission. These include:
